Windclan Territory

A large, open plain of hills and grasses. In the summer, it's filled with flowers such as Lavender.

Mushroomgloom wasn't quite sure what they are running from, well, they weren't really running from anything were they? Its a thought cycle that they have been stuck in for the past few hours of sunlight, just pacing the same circle in the meadow, over and over and over again. Trying to understand what even happened to them, it all went by so quickly that they had completely lost... everything. The clan was in shambles, with few cats, so very few cats remained in space. They were no more a few rogues in the same place than they were a clan. A clan was something grand and they worked together to help each survive but they couldn't do that when there was only a pawful of cats. The storm had taken so many lives. For a split moment, the warrior thought to the other clans. How were they faring after such a storm? That didn't matter though, Windclan is all that matters right now.

Windclan was alive still, barely, and on its last legs but they could recover from this. They had recover from this. The warrior thought, making sure that they knew the final tone in the thoughts even though they were just that, thoughts to themselves. Look sometimes it feels like there's more than one person in Mushroomgloom, them and then their crippling paranoia and anxiety. But who doesn't feel like that right now, after such an event. The feline sighs. They should just catch whatever prey they could for the time being and head back to camp. They've been gone for so long, they didn't want the wisps of Windclan thinking they died or something too. StarClan knows just how many have already joined their ranks in such a short amount of time.

With that, Mushroomgloom focused in on their surroundings, crouching down into the tall grass. The plants hiding the dark pelt that broke out against the lighter scenery, but with the sun slowly ducking down to sleep they would have more luck. Their hazy brown eyes shifted from the movements of the grasses around them, the breeze carrying a small whisper before they began to creep forward. Straining their ears and eyes for anything that could feed the clan. Wouldn't do, that was to starve, after being gifted a miracle from the stars to live through the twisting winds from not long enough ago. The warrior paused, the sounds of movement, off shuffling of the grasses nearby that doesn't match the tempo of the wind passing through.

Mushroomgloom crept towards the oddity, and then opened their mouth to catch the breeze that was running through the fur along their face and ears, ruffling their dark fur. Rabbit. That would do well to feed at least two cats. The warrior moved forward slowly, they didn't have another patrol member to fall back on if they scared the prey away too soon. They needed this catch. Then through the plants, their hazy eyes caught onto the tan-furred creature. A bit beat up, it seemed, but that was for the same reason that Windclan was beat up likely. It was why prey has been so hard to get lately, Mushroomgloom has never seen the prey pile so low and so consistently low for her entire life as a clan cat. Though again, that was also likely from their lack of members to hunt.

The feline hissed inwardly at themself as they allowed their thoughts to stray so badly. They needed to focus on getting this catch. They needed to get this catch. They needed to get this catch. Mushroomgloom repeated the phrase over and over inside of their head as though it was replacing the lack of pacing they were doing now. Regardless, the warrior made it into pouncing range with little to no issues. Then they shifted their weight into their haunches and pounced forward. The rabbit tried to bounce back but Mushroomgloom was already on the creature. Pinning down beneath their dark paws, claws cutting into the flesh, before Mushroomgloom could put it out of its misery with a single bite. They reared up, rabbit in tow, the long floppy ears between their teeth as they peered back the direction to the camp.


It was time to head back to camp then, they don't know how much more they could tolerate seeing the once thriving clan in its current state, but that doesn't mean they could just ignore it. Even if they kind of, just a little bit wants to. They wouldn't, Mushroomgloom wouldn't ever leave, no matter what. It just hurts. They heaved a sigh, taking in a slow, deep breath. Holding it a moment, imagining themselves grappling with their rowdy thoughts like making a spew of moss into a moss ball, before letting the breath out slow and controlled, imagining the thoughts leaving with it. They were needed back in camp and they caught some prey. With that the feline began to make their way back to camp.
